What is checkOnomics?

checkOnomics.com is a global portal offering industry-specific research information and tools to global leaders, managers and supervisors. At the heart of the checkOnomics service are the surveys on industries covered by checkOnomics ‘Lobbies’. The industry specific checkOnomics Lobbies are updated daily with new information and useful, practical tools to enhance Users’ understanding of what is happening in these industries. We also encourage Users to become contributors of practical product knowledge solutions which maybe of value to Lobby members.

What do you see as your mission?

To become a one-stop destination that enables the emerging class of global leaders, managers and supervisors in particular industries to keep up to date with what is going on in their area of business. Also, to provide practical Tools which can help these individuals perform to the best of their abilities.

What is a ‘checkOnomics Lobby’?

Part of the definition the definition of the term ‘Lobby’ in English is “a group of persons engaged in trying to influence legislators or other public officials in favor of a specific cause.” Another part of the definition says that a Lobby is “a hall, foyer, or waiting room at or near the entrance to a building.” The checkOnomics team likes the term Lobby since it can apply to what we are trying to achieve within the ‘checkOnomics Lobbies’. Our virtual ‘Lobbies’ are the areas where you can enter a world of information about the industry or business area in which you work or make your living (although we don’t intend that you should have to wait in a Lobby long for anything!).

How much information do you want from me to register?

You will understand that, as an online service, checkOnomics.com needs to collect a certain amount of information in order to deliver on its promises. However, we only collect the information that we need to ensure that you get what you want and we get paid what we're due.

Do I have to pay to register for the service?

No money is required to register for checkOnomics – opening your account is FREE. Simply register with an email address and password and you can even receive a FREE newsletter on the industries in which you have an interest. A company name and telephone number also helps us to be proactive on customer services issues, if we notice a problem.

Can anyone contribute to a Lobby?

It is our intention to create an area of each industry Lobby where User’s can contribute to the benefit of other members of the Lobby. There is the potential to join this ‘author community’. Here you can offer and share your own expertise and content with others. See the ‘contributor link’ at the bottom of each Lobby page.

How do you judge the quality of a contributors’ work?

Quality is of great importance along with relevance and originality. We have an editorial team drawn from people with experience in practical management, business schools, publishing and the specific industries we cover, to help us not only assure the quality of potential content but also that it is written in a way which is most practically helpful to Lobby members. But don’t be put off by this! Submit something that has helped improve you performance in a particular industry…it might well work for others too!
